Gray to Stay at Maison Object

I love the way this showcased room is put together to make darker colors springlike by adding a splash of lime green, light flooring, and lots of glass. I also like the two round mirrors. They don't have to be huge, just strategically placed.

I think it is Eicholtz, the Dutch company who is on the cutting edge of design. I am not a big fan of animal hides but this totally works here to brighten up the space.

Also look at the glass cabinet. Simple, elegant, uncluttered.....We have all been trained to put our "stuff" on display. What is your opinion of this???????

Another great room from the same company...I think.... (If I am wrong ,just email me and I will make the appropriate changes or do whatever derriere kissing I need to do to give credit where it is due:) Love the two candle features here on the tray. Gray pillows mixed with metallics on a rumpled linen sofa.... Gee, do you think it was so inviting people actually SAT THERE?????
I certainly do. All you wrinklephobes, just fluff the cushions and enjoy!

Maison & Objet Libeco's Spring Collection

Libeco Lagae from Belgium had a spring collection that was livable, fresh and lively with table linens in new colors mixed with traditional ones. There is something suitable for everyone.

They have extensive colors of solid tablelinens and these were the new intros to compliment what is already in the line.

Table cloths are also offered in runners some with contrasting borders. The new colors are muted but they have brights in the line also. We carry this line at Beadboard and are very happy with the new collection.

This is a picnic style with a green border on a cream background.



The bedding brought in fresh new grays mixed with taupes in overlapping stripes and a new 100% linen cable knit blanket that was great.

This was my favorite. The Sisco pattern. A beachy stripe in crisp white and gray. There were also accessories in the gray white and some cushioned bistro chair covers and outdoor lounge covers. The new catalog is online, for some reason I could not link it here. Just Google Libeco home. There is a catalog on the right of the opening page. You can order from Beadboard we don't charge to ship and everyone charges the same......They wash up great and are a great mix with antique linens.......AND remember they do cut yardage in wide widths so you don't have to order as much......Less seams......

This year's muse......Spring 2010

There will be a lot of blogging on this, the European trade market on home fashion and decor.in Paris, France, MAISON & OBJECT.

Some will be from designers whose primary interests differ from mine. So as to not be redundant, Beadboard will focus on how what I see presented at this huge market translates into your world and home. As a design shopgirl,my considerations trickle down to my customers/readers. Will they "Get" a certain look? Is it duplicated in the US? Is is saleable, the quality there, a good value? Will the look be here down the road a few years? Is it comfortable livable and WOW???

WILL I RUN INTO GERARD DEPARDIEU AT THE SAME RESTAURANT I DID LAST YEAR??!!

This will consist of a series of provacative and entertaining series of blogs on the experiences of one design shopgirl and her seemingly French partner in crime, Robespierre,

who actually did see

Monsieur Depardieu at a restaurant in the Marais that we frequent, last year.

Reflections on Maison et Objet " Tabletop"

Last January we attended market in Paris. Not realizing I was to begin blogging I had some great pictures to share and thought it might be interesting to see what you saw in your shops this summer. How many things do you recognize??? In retrospect, which ones were looks you saw in blogs later and which were the ones that weren't quite as popular????

This is a very specific table. The chairs are graduated and upholstered in a fabric that looks like a mural. Note the graduated height of the chairs. I wonder what the did to the backs?????

Here is a rather spare contemporary setting. Look at the massiveness of the table. We're seeing a lot of that look now. The big rough hewn tables are being shown with all kinds of chairs.

This is a look that definitely was successful. The rustic gray finish of the wood softens the room and the chandelier makes it dressy. Look at the square dishes and the very contemporary chair on the back right.



Ditto on this one. Looks like a lot we are seeing now.



Blanc D'Ivoire, always over the top gorgeous but competition is heating up as others are jumping on the softened color palatte bandwagon.




This is a more contemporary table but great in it's simplicity. You can dress it up or down and if you are getting it for a family it is pretty indestructable. The benches keep the focus on the table top and the underneath doesn't have lots of chair legs showing keeping it less cluttered. I also love the clear glass oversized vases.

This was a look you saw a lot this summer. The simple Teak table for outdoors with the ties in the back. I love the color of the chair legs. Go ahead, mix it up!

Sorry this is a little fuzzy..This is a Belgian Company Puyaert Home Basics they do great mixing of textures. With the Belgian design heating up they could be a company to watch. Notice the large clear cylinders I love them, Not just for candles anymore!!!!!

I thought this was sweet and simple. I love these Bistro Bentwood chairs, (you see them in brown everywhere) but look at them in the grey. I apologize for NOT getting the light fixture here. DUH.

I love the lowness of the upholstered armchairs and the color in the contemporary wall art.

It softens the room and makes it look bigger.....

So.... more reflections to come. Since I wasn't blogging at the time when we go next in January, I will cover my Who, What, When, Where, and Why's better... All this talk of dining tables is making me hungry.....OOOOOH that's an idea for the next Paris Reflection....!
