Provisions in Paris, Ile St Louis..

While getting provisions in Paris, Robes and I have our little things we like.....
The first day he went to the market alone and got things HE wanted..... I think because
I had been there in Sept while he watched the shop.....Then when I saw what he arrived at the apartment with I saw a few things missing....... So, we headed down to Ile St Louis....
This is a restaurant on Rue De L'Ile
  Sign not too enticing....

But look at what in hanging in the window..... All fresh!!!!!!!  NO Plastique food thank you very much.
I was ready to crunch on some of those gorgeous radishes....They serve them with a little unsalted butter.

But I was on a mission,,,, I wanted some Point L'Eveque cheese.....Hit Paydirt here!!!!!!

Also you will notice the terrine de lapin is missing.....
That is because the young gentleman was cutting a petite morseau pour MOI.
AND they had Proscuitto San Danielle.........YUMM!!!!!!
And wine so we didn't have to make an extra stop.

This was where we got the flowers From Patrick Allain........

So Pretty

Snapdragons??? We got Hyacinths, roses, and orchids...... And a bouquet of Fuschia colored flowers.
I blogged on his shop a few weeks ago.

I have know idea what happened here but I liked it so here you go.....
Maybe I was reeling from the fragrance.  Literally.

Down on the corner was Le Regis Blanc a great restaurant/bar., where we could not only  nab a baguette on the way home but suck up a fabulous fresh mint Mojito.

I saw on the mirror they have bouillabaisse........Will definitely try that next time.

Soooo Fun.  Wait staff were easy on the eyes too....... Nice....

I want an Orchid car for Valentines day.

You know after the Xmas season is over, I can't wait to get back to music I haven't listened to for 30 days........Not that Diana Krall, Michael Buble aren't fabulous for xmas music which we play in the shop.......But it is the theme for those Lexus commercials that drives me round the bend!!!!!!!! I would be just as happy with one of these in the above pic Sans the bow thank you very much.......I believe it is a Deux Cheveaux or a Peugeot. But while walking past a Toyota dealership in Paris on Blvd St Marcel I spied this sweetness.

It has a built in smile!!!!!!! Just like my old beetle rag top!!!!!!!!!!!It's the IQ? I can't imagine what bells and whistles it purports... I just want it. Want it. Want it.

And it's Beautiful!  Enhanced with  decorative orchids........ How cute is this?????
Why are there no Toyotas like this in the US?    I know, maybe there are and I just haven't seen them.
But sooooooo cute!  What do you think???????

Upholstered Macaroons from Designer's Guild

When I saw the offerings from Designer's Guild and Christian La Croix who also has a line with them,
it reminded me of the colors of a box of macaroons.  (the French ones)

How fun is this??????

Tricia Guild is known for her color, I love this vignette and the starfish bowl on the table.

More fun!  Look at the inside color of the floor lamp!
Pretty in pink LIGHTING!

Obviously this woman liked this so much she couldn't get up from the sofa.
Don't blame her look at the way the back is tufted and how high it is.

I saw a LOT of that azure blue color at the show....... It was pretty dominant everywhere.

Love the ombre draperies.

They surrounded this vignette.

I don't know if they make blue macaroons but this floor covering would probably be the color.....

This last vignette is from the most well known designer in the world.
 Mother Nature.
These pinks, corals and blues are a sunrise taken out the window of Air France.

Arte Pura goes to College!!

On july 9th of this year I blogged about our Arte Pura muse..... We call her Miss Beadboard.
She is attending a major university, is in a sorority, was a cheerleader, gets good grades, and has awesome parents.  MB fell in love with this bed, the Sorgente in the peachy Armonia Old.

Soooo, she sent up pictures of HER new room at school.
She chose the Ciotello spread in the same peachy color accented with greys and whites.

How this for student digs????????

Evidently it is getting high marks with her sorority sisters already.

Here's the evento slipcover in the Gesso Old at her worktable....
The puckered bag it comes in is being used to carry the MAC.

Oh and we love the Arte Kleenex box in the white terry with the Swarovski Crystal.
Thanks for the pics MB!!!!!! To see the blog from July just click on muse in the search onthe right sidebar below.

Oh! And other news!!!!!!! Beadboard was featured in a regional publication, Austin and San Antonio
URBAN HOME!  Page 96.  Thanks URBAN HOME!

So, my apologies for not commenting so much lately... I've had the "schmutz" like a mini flu, and I'm leaving for Paris for Maison et Object tomorrow with a battery of over the counter cold medicine,
while leaving the shop in Peter's capable hands.
I will be meeting the designer and the team from Arte Pura,
and seeing their new fall collection in person...
(I already have the pictures but have to keep them under wraps until after the show.......)
All I can say is it is incredible!!!!!!!!!!  Over the top with a few surprises.
So I will be scouting out the latest and greatest for all of you fabulous people.......;)
Bisous!

Amorino an Italian Valentine in Paris

AMORINO. GELATO ITALIANO. Get me anything from here for Valentine's Day.
Italian gelato and accroutrements in Paris. Obscene, isn't it????Doesn't Amorino mean something like love in Italian??? We live in a small town in Texas known for it's Ice Cream.
It is delicious, but not sexy. This is sexy.
This is one of their boxes of bonbons, every color and flavor.
We always get as gifts to take back home for friends. We have tried other gelato
places in Paris such as the highly recommended Pozetto. It was good but somehow didn't measure up for us. I like gelato gooey and thick with tons of flavor.

OH, by the way did I mention the CHOCOLATE??????? OOOPS!

Never mind you won't like it.....This chocolate isn't good... It doesn't look good either does it?????? NOT!

And the packaging and presentation is not pretty either, just gorgeous..... Yup, just get me anything from Amorino for Valentines day......They also have espresso, and beautiful balsamic vinegar sets..... Delightful people.....Happy Valentine's day to you!!!!!

Leslie Caron, Thank Heaven

Recently an actress I love came out with her long awaited memoir. The actress/ dancer/chanteuse is the lovely Leslie Caron who at 78 still can wow.

Pictured here in "Lili" one of her first films, she starred in several , when she was with MGM, including Daddy Long Legs with Fred Astaire, Father Goose with Cary Grant... She mentions her
relationships with people like Warren Beatty. Evidently, they had great fun together.

Classically trained as a ballet dancer made her sought after in Hollywood and she landed the role of a lifetime dancing with Gene Kelly in American in Paris.

My favorite, "Gigi "with Louis Jordan as she grows up in Paris and is trained as a courtesan and then shocks her family by saying she will not be one, instead she wished to marry. And marry she did. It is from this film that the title of the book was inspired, when Maurice Chevalier sang "Thank heaven for little girls"about the young Gigi.

Dancing with Gene Kelly in "An American in Paris" showed the world her versitility as a film star. The book is available on Amazon.

Pascal Mutel 6 Rue Carrefours de l'Odeon, Paris

There are some things you do every time you go to a special city that you repeat ceremoniously everytime you go. One of the things we do is to go the flower shop, Pascal Mutel. He is not just a Fleuriste, he is a talented designer of renown who's work includes many major events in France and other parts of the world.

Thought you all would enjoy a peek.

These were what we went home with.
Happy Sunday.
